Doctrinal Statement
- The Bible
We believe the Bible (66 books), in their original form, to be plenary and verbally inspired Word of God without error. It is God’s complete and closed revelation to us, and He preserves His Word through out generations.
- 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Romans 16:25-26; Matthew 5:18.
- God (The Trinity)
We believe there is only one God. He exists eternally in three persons: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.
- Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19-20; Isaiah 45:5-6; John 17:3.
- Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus is fully God and equal with the Father. We believe He was born to a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, and died in our place to pay for our sins. He rose from the dead, went up to heaven to speak for us, and will return in glory.
- Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 21:27; 24:39; Romans 8:34; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 John 2:2; Colossians 2:9; Revelation 5:9.
- Creation and Fall
We believe God created the world and the first man, Adam, in six literal days; humans are not the result of evolution. Because Adam chose to sin, all people are now born with a sinful nature that deserves God’s judgment.
- Genesis 1:26; Romans 5:12.
- Salvation
We believe the only way to escape judgment is to turn from sin and trust in Jesus. We are made right with God by His grace alone through faith in Christ alone. Once saved, a believer is secure in Christ forever.
- John 1:12; 3:3; Romans 3:21-28; Titus 3:5; John 10:27-29; Ephesians 4:30; Romans 8:35-39; Hebrews 13:5.
- The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit shows people their need for salvation. He gives new life to those who repent, lives within them, and places them into the body of Christ. He also seals, guides, and teaches every believer.
- John 14:16-17, 26; 16:8-11, 13; Ephesians 4:30; 5:18; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.
- The Church
We believe the Church is the spiritual body of Christ, and He is the Head. It is seen through local churches where believers grow and prepare to share the gospel. The church practices two main ordinances: Baptism (by immersion) and the Lord’s Supper (to remember Christ’s death).
- Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 11:23-24; Ephesians 4:4-16; Colossians 2:12.
- Last Things
We believe Jesus will take His church to heaven (the Rapture) before a seven-year time of tribulation. Afterward, He will return (the Second Coming of Christ) to rule the earth for 1,000 years. We believe in the resurrection of all people: the saved to eternal joy and the lost to eternal punishment in Hell.
- Daniel 9:27; John 5:28-29; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20:1-6, 10-15; 21:27.
- Marriage and Gender
We believe God created marriage to be a lifelong union between one man and one woman. We also believe that a person’s biological gender is designed by God.
- Genesis 1:27; 2:22-25; Matthew 19:4-6.
- Biblical Separation
We believe Christians should stay away from worldly attitudes and stay separate from false religious teachers. Choosing to live purely for God brings true joy and a close relationship with Him.
- Romans 12:1-2; 16:17; 2 Corinthians 6:14-7:1; 2 Thessalonians 3:6, 14-15.
